Our Structure

Our Organisational Structure
The way our interest work
Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board exists to protect, grow, and pass on benefits to Ngāti Tūwharetoa. Our structure keeps decision making clear and accountable. The Trust Board sets direction and guardianship of taonga.
Our operational teams deliver services for whānau and hapū. Our commercial interests generate income that supports kaupapa across education, health, culture, and the environment.
We also work alongside related entities such as Ngāti Tūwharetoa Fisheries and the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust so our shared effort creates long term wellbeing.
Benefits of Our Approach
Our structure helps us in several ways:
- Spread the Risk – Having many different investments,
if one doesn’t do well, others can make up for it. - Work Together – We partner with other iwi and organizations to achieve bigger goals.
- Local Focus – Many of our investments are in our rohe (area), which helps our local community.
- Long-term Thinking – We invest for future generations, not just today.
