Mitigation Funding

Mitigation Funding

What is mitigation funding

Mitigation funding supports projects that reduce environmental impacts on our waterways and strengthen the long-term health of the Waikato River and its surrounding catchments.

Through Project Kaitiaki, funding may be available for whānau, community groups, businesses and operators whose work contributes to cleaner water, healthier ecosystems and stronger environmental stewardship.
